2005 Year End Another year comes to an end, and while we didn't get many monthly games in during the 2nd half of the year the LACC did see a lot of change. Again I would like to congratulate both Scott the Voice and Cincy Sean on the birth of their sons... -EV to the LACC game but we forgive them as well as Jake's demanding new job (congrats Jake). Three new members we accepted to this overly pompous and self proclaimed prestigious game, we hope to see more of Lynn, Al Dante and The Man my brother Tim ( I can't wait to take the title from him next year). All Four Gold Chips this year went to new winners, Scott the Voice took the 7 Card Stud Chip, Inferno won the Heads Up Challenge, Evan The Terrible won the PLO8 and Tim won the Showdown. Cograts to all, winning a gold chip is never easy in this club (just ask Head Hunter Mark). While winning a gold chip is difficult it doesn't compare to the effort it takes Cincy Sean and Bents Stacks in entertaining the world with the Lord Admiral Radio. With over 56 show including some golden nuggets they keep the show fresh, funny and insightful, well to me at least. It is not for me to thank the some of the bloggers out there who helped contribute to Sean's and Brent's Show, however, it is because of them I was introduced to blogger community. As a listener and a reader who does not maintain a blog I found the blogging community to be very open and approachable. I have corresponded with a few bloggers and each time I was amazed at how helpful everybody is, so to the entire blogging community Thank You. If you don't read blogs, I encourage you to have a look, there is a blog out there for everyone. Get inspiration by following some one else' trials in poker, get help or advice with your game, find out what is new in the industry, get updated on major tournament goings or read some great satirical posts / stories and have a laugh. All you have to do is look to the blog roll in Cincy or Brent Stacks and start following the links. I hope everybody has a great New Year and I look forward to taking on the club in 2006. The Showdown There’s a new “The Man” in town at the LACC The 2005 Showdown, a No Limit Hold’em, winner take all, tournament and the LACC’s version of the WSOP took place on Saturday. This was easily the best played tournament the club has ever had. Tim “The Man” has gone from bullying his younger brother (yours truly Evan the Terrible”) to bullying the entire LACC club in order to become the latest and second ever Showdown Gold Chip Winner. Tim earned the title “The Man” not to mention a very nice price pool. (Not that we play for real money, that would be wrong)
We know how busy Cinci Sean has become with the success of the Lord Admiral Radio Podcast not to mention the pending birth of the "Cincinnati Kid". (The new edition could be here as I'm writing this, good luck or congratulations, whichever is more appropriate at this time.) And because of his time constraints yours truly (Evan The Terrible) will now be updating the site on a regular basis. I hope to add some new content and vow to keep the site up-to-date and even may give the site a well deserved face lift, but, it will be a slow transition process. I would appreciate any feedback you might have or suggestions for content. Evan The Terrible
