Sean's Poker Library

Many club members know that Sean likes to collect all manner of poker books.

Here is a list of his library.  Club members that are interested in reading any of these can let him know at the next game.

Look for reviews to be included...in time.

New additions since October in RED.

2+2 Books

www.twoplustwo.com

2+2 has its supporters and detractors.  Few people sit on the fence with their work.  I happen to be a large supporter of the 2+2 canon and believe their writings are invaluable to any student of the game.  Here is what I have in my collection:

Theory of Poker, Sklansky
Hold'Em Poker, Sklanksy
Hold'Em for Advanced Players, Sklansky and Malmuth
Seven Stud for Advanced Players, Sklansky, Malmuth and Zee
High Low Split Poker for Advanced Players, Zee
Small Stakes Hold'Em, Miller, Sklansky, Malmuth
Tournament Poker for Advanced Players, Sklansky
Getting the Best of It, Sklansky
Poker, Gaming, and Life, Sklansky
Sklansky on Poker, Sklansky
Inside the Poker Mind, Feeney
Poker Essays, Malmuth
Poker Essays Vol II, Malmuth
Poker Essays Vol III, Malmuth
Fundamentals of Poker, Malmuth and Loomis
Gambling Theory and Other Topics, Malmuth

The Poker Coach

www.pokercoach.us

Bob Ciaffone, aka the Coach, has quickly become one of my favourite authors.  The authors of 2+2 seem to focus their works on limit poker, and my library had a hole when it came to non-limit poker.  Ciaffone, a huge proponent of the big-bet games in both tournaments and cash games, has filled that gap.  On top of that he is a clear and articulate writer.  Proper English is extremely rare in poker books (even 2+2) and reading Ciaffone is a refreshing change.

Here are the Poker Coach books I own:

Pot-Limit and No-Limit Poker, Ciaffone and Reuben
Improve your Poker, Ciaffone
Middle Limit Holdem Poker, Ciaffone and Brier
Omaha Holdem Poker, Ciaffone

The Bible

Doyle Brunson's Super System started it all.

Super/System, Brunson

Low-Limit

Since I usually play low-limit games I have found books dedicated to these styles helpful.  I've enjoyed and recommend both of these:

Winning Low-Limit Hold'Em, Jones
How to Beat Low Limit Seven Card Stud Poker, Kammen
The Complete Book of Hold'Em, Carson*
Seven Card Stud:  42 Lessons How to Win at Lower and Medium limits, West

The Others

Here is the rest of the collection, good bad and ugly...

Caro's Book of Tells, Caro
Championship No-Limit and Pot-Limit Hold'Em, Cloutier and McEvoy
Win at Poker, Rubens
Winning Poker Systems, Zadeh
Bluffing and Betting in Poker, Taetzsch
Thursday Night Poker, Steiner
Zen and the Art of Poker, Phillips*
Play Poker Like the Pros, Hellmuth
Internet Texas Hold'Em, Hilger
No Limit Texas Hold'Em, Daugherty and McEvoy

Narratives

Here is a list of some good poker narratives I own - all recommended.

Biggest Game in Town, Alvarez
Big Deal, Holden
Positively Fifth Street, McManus
Poker Nation, Bellin**
